E: Game On! at GameCon!

Play, Learn and Enjoy Games at Gamecon Philippines this July!

My ‘gaming’ started with physical street games like taguan base and langit lupa. Then as we grew up, we upgraded to text, pogs and trading cards. After that came playing card games and the popularity of Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh card games. Technology also grew with us and there were Family Computer and brick game consoles and later, full RPG and MMORPGs. It is not a question that gaming has become part of our lifestyle. So much so that the first GameCon PH will be held soon!

Gaming is a way to bond with our friends and family; it has become a source of income and career of professional e-sports and game development. This year, we are bringing gamers of all ages under one roof! We’ll gather together for a celebration of one of the biggest gaming convention in the country.

The Event: GameCon PH

Gamecon Philippines is a 3-day gaming convention happening on July 7-9, 2017 at the Megatrade Hall 2, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City. It is a 2-part event, which features a conference on July 7 and an exhibit and trade show on July 8 & 9.

Conference July 7

The workshop will feature notable local personalities and key players in the industry of Game Art, Design and Development. Guests and participants can learn about asset creation, game design and basic game development facilitated by the people that put the Philippine Gaming Development on the global map. This is open to all high school, college students and professionals who would like to jumpstart their careers in game development. This is in partnership with Game Developers Association of the Philippines.

Exhibit and Trade Show July 8 & 9

The exhibit and trade show is where everyone can learn and play games of all shapes and forms. From digital (consoles, desktop, and mobile), table top (board, card). Along with robotics, toys, up-and-coming game technologies, and so much more. Then get to test and play featured games from various gaming companies!

A gaming event could not be complete without competitions. The X-Wing Tournament (Star Wars table top game) and RoboRumble (Robot combat), Mobile Legends Tournament, Game Art along with several electronic game show matches and more.

Not (yet) into gaming? Well, try their Neko Maid Cafe which will open the whole day but will have limited seating and tickets. Cosplay Competition where participants can cosplay any character from their favorite video, console and PC games. Online registration is open but there will also be an onsite registration.

What are you waiting for? Join us as we play, learn and enjoy in the biggest gathering of gamers!
